Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe Constituency and Former Deputy Education Minister, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has paid the tuition and accommodation fees for thirty constituents to study for various degrees in engineering at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) in Takwa.
The scholarship given to these young students is solely funded by the lawmaker who also served in the president Akufo’s first term as a deputy minister of Education.
According to Dr. Adutwum, he is offering the schorlaships to his brilliant constituents so that in ten years to come, the Bosomtwe constituency will boast of more than hundred engineers.
“My vision o ensuring Bosomtwe gets 100 Engineers within the next ten years is on course,” he said in a Facebook story ThePunch Ghana sighted.
The beneficiaries, per a social media post made by the MP, have set off today, Monday, January 11, 2021 to Takwa to begin their four years degree programs at UMaT.
“This morning, I bid farewell to 30 students from Bosomtwe who are on their way to University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) at Takwa. They are going to pursue various courses in Engineering fully funded by me,” he disclosed on Facebook.
He added, “Fees paid, accommodation provided an a bus ready to convey them to Takwa…”
