Former deputy General Secretary of the opposition NDC, Koku Anyidoho has called on president Akufo Addo to ignore the opposition NDC’s call to investigate military invasion of parliament.
Mr. Anyidoho through his tweet which was cited by thepunchghana.com, urged Prez Akufo Addo to remain focused as the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces and pay death ears to calls for the military invasion of parliament which Mr. Anyidoho sees to be acceptable, to be investigated
Mr Anyidoho’s tweet read, “His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, please stay focused as the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, and ignore any call to probe into the acceptable move by the Military on January 7,2021. We are not in Banana Republic”
On the 7th January,2021, a joint military and police personnel moved into Parliament chamber to curb some disturbances on the floor of Parliament following disagreements between the NDC and NPP MPs on the election of the Speaker for the Eighth Parliament, a move which was totally condemned by members of the opposition.
