Former Executive Director of Danquah Institute, Mr. Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has urged Ghanaians not to generate hatred for homosexuals.
There have been ragging debates on several social media platforms on whether Ghana should give space for homosexuality or not.
Reacting to reports and calls for LGBTQI office to be closed down in the country in a Facebook post which was cited by THE PUNCH GHANA, Mr Gabby said people don’t necessarily have be a gay or lesbian before appreciating pro- gays situations.
“You don’t have to be pro-gay to appreciate their situation. You only have to be human. Let us be careful and not generate an intense hate campaign against homosexuals. You can speak for the law and ‘culture’ minus hate.” Said Mr Otchere-Darko
He further cautioned those campaigning against homosexuals to be very careful in order not to generate an intense hatred for them.
Meanwhile Hon. Fuseini Inusah, speaking in an interview on Okay FM Monday, said gay rights is now a matter of rights which a nation like Ghana should recognize because it is a matter “new rights” emerging.
