National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by former President John Dramani is still in court challenging the outcome of the 2020 General Elections.
After having several attempts to have EC Boss, Mrs. Jean Mensa to appear in court dismissed, where do the party stand?
Their chances have thoroughly been assessed by a Senior Lecturer of History and Political Science in KNUST.
Dr. Amakye Boateng spoke in a candid opinion on PURE FM (radio station based in Kumasi) which was exclusively monitored by THE PUNCH GHANA about the overall leadership of the NDC.
He opined that the manifesto of the party in the build-up to the 2020 Elections had nothing feasible which could turn the fortunes around in terms of improving the economy and most importantly, dealing with the unemployment crisis the country faces.
The Senior Lecturer continued that New Patriotic Party (NPP) on the other hand, had several policies which needed to be continued such as the FREE SHS policy, “Planting for Food and Jobs” and NABCO which doesn’t pay much but go a long way to help lessen the burden parents face seeing graduates stay home unemployed.
“President Mahama got the chance to lead the country for four years and he mismanaged the transformation of Ghana, why should be giving another chance? There is no future for the NDC if they continue to be led by people with no vision’, he further added.
Ghana throughout the years after Dr. Kwame Nkrumah has never had a long term plan which can see the country become self-sustaining.
Every government tries to do what they can but for the most part, we are still riding on the coat-tails of foreign aid which has made it difficult to progress.
