Salam Mustapha, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) national youth organizer, claims that the party has more qualified presidential candidates than the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He pointed out that the NPP has a wide selection of high-caliber presidential candidates, in contrast to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which has difficulty finding and presenting such candidates for elections.
He claims that the opposition NDC, which lacks qualified candidates to lead the party, is practically pleading with former President John Dramani Mahama to serve as its leader in the upcoming presidential elections.
“In NPP, it is always an interesting conversation because we always have a plethora of quality materials to run for President. Anytime, you can take a cursory look in the NPP and you will not fail to mention names of two to three people with good standing, having the repertoire to be president,” he said on A1 Radio in Bolgatanga monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
He stated further that “Unlike the NDC that really struggles to produce materials. Even when the former President [John Dramani Mahama] doesn’t want to go again, the whole party goes to keen before him and say it is you or nobody else. That is not in the NPP. The abundance of materials is noticeable”.
The National Youth Organiser indicated that the delegates already knew who will be chosen as the NPP’s presidential candidate, but refusing to say who he is backing to lead the party into the 2024 elections.
The vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is projected to defeat trade and industry minister Alan Kyerematen to become the next election’s presidential candidate for the governing NPP.
